We had a mellow, groovy weekend. No one came to see the house because of the Easter holiday. Emma made it 5 hours at Doggie Daycare before she began to get really freaked out. Last Saturday she lost it, tried to chew through a chain link fence and managed to lose a tooth in the process. Looking at that last sentence the whole 'Doggie Daycare' thing sounds like yuppy action so let me explain.
My dogs, Emma and Cecil, have never been in a kennel for any period of time. Ever. So, once a week I load them up and send them to Doggie Daycare which just happens to be the same kennel that they'll go to when we go on our house hunting trip. Daycare gives the dogs and the staff a chance to get to know each other and, hopefully, make and extended stay for Emma and Cecil a whole lot easier on everyone. Emma had made 2 visits and been fine. Nervous but fine. Last Saturday, however, followed on the heels of a whole lot of nasty weather down here. Emma is terrified of thunderstorms and spent the days leading up to daycare following me around. She never got more than about a foot away from me. Sending her to daycare that Saturday was the straw that broke the puppy's back. All that noise from barking dogs and being in a strange place was just too much for her. When the kennel called about Emma's tooth I rushed her to the vet. Fortunately the whole tooth came out, no cracking or breaking, and now Emma takes a homeopathic version of Prozac. Puppy Prozac is how she was able to make it for 5 hours Saturday. Yeah Emma! We're gonna shoot for 6 hours this week with and overnight stay at the end of the month.
Now that I've bored the shit out of you with my dog stories I need to explain the whole contest thing. As we lay about this weekend being all mellow, groovy, cold and high on chocolate eggs it occurred to me that I didn't celebrate my blogiversary. I went into my archives and realized I'd never celebrated! My blogiversary falls on the Feast of Brigid which is celebrated in blog-land with a Blogger's Silent Poetry Reading. Instead of celebrating all things Knitiot Savant, I slap up some poetry. That's pretty cool, huh? So, in honor of my blogiversary and passing the 1000th comment mark, I offer this contest.
Boogie likes it when I knit socks for her. She also LOVES to choose the yarn. This weekend she asked for a pair of socks. These were the choices:
Regia and Claudia Hand Painted Yarns. The Contest: Which yarn did Boogie choose? Please leave your answer in comments. All correct answers will be placed in a hat and chosen at random. The winner will receive the skeins that Boogie did not choose and a set of stitch-markers to match the yarn. The contest will close April 15 at midnight, CST.
I would so pick Claudia- soft and cushiony. I'll bet on Claudia. :)

If Boogie is a girly girl, she chose the Claudia's handpainted. I'm not, so I prefer the Regia. I'm gonna guess she's a g-g and went for the Claudia. Which is good 'cuz I'd like to win the Regia :-)

Regia!
Posted by: Eve | April 15, 2007 at 01:50 PM
Okay, I'm new here, but I want to play. I'll say she chose the Regia. I like them both!
Hope Emma feels better soon.

I'm going to go for the Claudia. My dog loves to go to the kennel because she's such a nudge, they keep her at the front desk! She makes so many friends there, she feels a little understimulated when she comes back home.
Posted by: Faith | April 14, 2007 at 09:26 PM
I'm guessing the Regia
Posted by: JJ | April 14, 2007 at 08:16 PM
Hand painted!
Posted by: Erin B | April 14, 2007 at 09:46 AM
I'll guess she picked the Regia.
(Probably because I want the Claudia for myself, although both look like a lot of fun.)
Here's hoping the Puppy Prozac keeps working!
Posted by: Susan in Fairbanks | April 13, 2007 at 06:26 PM
Hard choice but I think she chose the handpainted, that would have been my choice!
But that would be too obvious so I am going for the Regia.
Posted by: Kenyetta | April 13, 2007 at 01:03 PM
I'm guessing the claudia
Posted by: Marcy | April 12, 2007 at 08:55 PM
Oooh, tough choice! I think she went with the Claudia.
Posted by: Laurie | April 12, 2007 at 08:11 PM
I think she chose the Claudia.
Posted by: Nicole | April 12, 2007 at 06:55 PM
Gotta love that Puppy Prozac -- had a pup once that couldn't have survived the Fourth without it, so I feel for you, indeedy.
I'm guessing the Claudia's as I'm pretty sure Flicka-Dot would have picked the Claudia colorway when she was Boogie age... They're both great colorways, though, I'm sure she'll love watching her socks "grow up"!
Posted by: Christene | April 12, 2007 at 08:49 AM
Happy blogiversary! My guess is the Claudia.
Posted by: Diana | April 12, 2007 at 12:00 AM
I think "Claudia"!
My mutt Sascha did the "afraid of thunder" thing for almost five years! Slightest rumble would have her hiding in her "cave", aka the kneehole of my desk. She's finally over it.

Oh, the Regia I'd bet. Happy Blogiversary (belated).
Posted by: Theresa | April 11, 2007 at 09:04 PM
I'm betting on the Regia!
Posted by: Gladys | April 11, 2007 at 07:15 PM
oh, that's a tough one. I'll say she chose the Regia, cuz it looks close to what my niece chose for her birthday socks
Posted by: Christy | April 11, 2007 at 05:02 PM
I guess the Claudia's Handpainted because that's the brightness level my daughter would pick. Both are completely luscious.
Poor Emma - I hope the stress levels drop!
Posted by: EnnaVic | April 11, 2007 at 04:48 PM
I think Boogie chose the Claudia's. She's so cute!
Posted by: Becky | April 11, 2007 at 03:26 PM
I think she chose the handpainted on the right. I hope I win! My birthday is Friday and I'm entering every contest I can find in hopes of extra birthday surprises!
Posted by: 5elementknitr | April 11, 2007 at 02:50 PM
i think she chose the regia because they are bright.
Posted by: Kelly | April 11, 2007 at 01:03 PM
I guess Regia. My girls (and the boys but they aren't as vocal about it as the girls are) love their homemade socks. The brighter, the better. I can't make them fast enough!!
Posted by: Yarn mom of 8 | April 11, 2007 at 12:53 PM
i guess claudia
Posted by: Ann-Marie MacKay | April 11, 2007 at 12:13 PM
I vote Regia!
Posted by: Katie | April 11, 2007 at 11:36 AM
I'm with Janna - Regia.
Posted by: Diana | April 11, 2007 at 10:26 AM
My guess is Claudia.
Posted by: Stitchy Fingers | April 11, 2007 at 10:07 AM
I'm going to guess the Regia.
Poor Emma! You are a very good doggie mommy though, to let your babies get used to the kennel slowly.
Posted by: Julie | April 11, 2007 at 09:21 AM
I'm thinking the Claudia, it's cheerful, or is she into goth? Tough to choose.oh,well, I'll stick with Claudia. ;)
Posted by: olga | April 11, 2007 at 09:12 AM
I'll pick the regia...it's colorful.
Posted by: andrea | April 11, 2007 at 09:03 AM
The Claudia's, I think.
Posted by: Miss T | April 11, 2007 at 08:57 AM
Oh, she chose the Claudia's! Poor Emma. I feel so bad for her that the kennel is stressful. Hope the meds keep helping her.
Posted by: Karen in Toledo | April 11, 2007 at 08:47 AM
Claudias I think
Posted by: catsmum | April 11, 2007 at 08:47 AM
I'm guessing the Claudia's.
Posted by: Valerie | April 11, 2007 at 08:42 AM
I'm guessing she chose the Regina.
Your poor doggy! Hopefully she will do even better at doggy day care this week.
Posted by: Alley | April 11, 2007 at 08:34 AM
I'm guessing the Regina is the choice...
Posted by: Karen S | April 11, 2007 at 08:11 AM
I'm guessing Claudia's! Happy Blogiversary and 1,000th commenterversary!
Posted by: i.d.d.a. | April 11, 2007 at 01:11 AM
I'm definitely voting for the regia. Possibly because I want the claudia, but hey ;)
Posted by: Frarochvia | April 10, 2007 at 09:57 PM
I'm guessing the Claudia's!
Oh no about Emma's tooth! :(
Posted by: Chris | April 10, 2007 at 09:40 PM
Claudia, because it looks like Easter eggs.
Posted by: Cindy | April 10, 2007 at 07:12 PM
I think she chose the Claudia's Handpainted to go with her pretty pearls!
Posted by: Amy | April 10, 2007 at 06:56 PM
I'm guessing she picked the Claudia Handpainted yarn because of the pink!
Poor Emma -- what kind of dog is she?
Posted by: rhelynn | April 10, 2007 at 06:33 PM
Poor Emma - she is such a sweet girl. I think Boogie picked the Claudia because she is into all things girly and bling like.
Posted by: Kim | April 10, 2007 at 08:29 AM
Don't you love puppy prozac? Boogalu and Pearl were taking it last summer. Pearl to help with settling in and Boogalu to stop marking things (probably because of Pearl). It's just amazing.
Anyway, I think Boogie chose Claudia. It's bright and has pink in it.
Posted by: Sandy | April 10, 2007 at 07:27 AM
I am guessing she chose the Claudia's those as previously noted, both would be excellent choices.
Poor doggies, I do hope Emma feels better although I know full well that thunderstorm season is fast approaching.
Posted by: Julie | April 10, 2007 at 06:54 AM
What a toss up. That Boogie, with a mind of her own...I am going to say the Regia. Why? Because I think it is what mommy would pick and we LOVE being like Mommy.
ps: Duncan turned 4 today! Sigh.
Posted by: KT | April 09, 2007 at 11:27 PM
Oooh.. both are pretty! Either one would make a majorly Boogie-worthy pair!
Posted by: J.P. | April 09, 2007 at 11:14 PM
I think she picked the Claudia's Handpainted. I hope so anyway. I have a few skeins of Claudia's and I love it, but I've also been wanting to try that Regia, and I have none.
Posted by: courtney | April 09, 2007 at 10:53 PM
I'm guessing she chose the Claudia's.
Posted by: Carole | April 09, 2007 at 09:57 PM
my doggies too.. never away from us. good idea about the doggy daycare, she'll pull through! so, I let Miss Mia pick b/w the two & i'm going with Claudia's Handpainted.. Happy Belated Blogiversary :)
