Rash Behaviour: An update

Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.  We sure did.  It was quiet, mellow and significantly less itchy for Lili.

Her rash is better; still here but much better than before.  Unfortunately she's developed a nasty head cold.  So, instead of constant scratching keeping her awake at night the struggle to breathe around a stuffy nose is taking it's toll.  Poor thing.  Let's hope she can kick this over the weekend. 

Don't know if y'all have been following the news over the holiday but, if you know what's been happening in India please spare a moment and send those folks some good mojo.  Sounds like they could use some right about now.

And thanks to all of you who wished Lili well and offered suggestions.  Every little bit helps!

Happy Thanksgiving

Rash Behavior

Over the weekend, poor Lili developed a nasty rash.  By Sunday evening, what were a few areas of irritated skin had blossomed into a rash that ran from her shoulders to her knees.  Lili, as you can imagine, was miserable.  We did what we could to decrease the itchiness then hit the doctor's office first thing Monday morning.

The good news is that it's not strep.  The bad; the doctor has no idea what's causing this.  He gave us a prescription for a cream to help with the itching and instructions to use Benadryl as well.  If it hasn't cleared up by Friday, we go back to the doctor.

I've changed all my cleaning products to the no perfume/safe for sensitive skin stuff and am washing everything that she comes in contact with.  I also changed her bath soap to the stuff for sensitive skin.   I've kept her out of pre-k 'cause really, who wants to sit in school when all you really want to do is scratch every itchy spot you can reach?

Just writing about this makes me itchy!!!!!  I'll keep ya posted!

Ten Random Things

1.  Magazines subscribed to - Bust, Interweave Knits and Martha Stewart Living (go ahead.  Slap me.)

2.  Aside from knitting, my favorite pasttimes are - Reading, playing around on the internet, riding my bike and sleeping.

3.  If I were not a speech-language pathologist(insert your own profession) I would be- A forensic pathologist or a costume designer.  Tough choice there.

4.  I am irrationally worried about - holy shit.  Too much to list here.

5.  If I were the opposite sex - I'd join a cult where I could have more than one wife.

6.  The thing I miss most about childhood is - the opportunity to wear a Princess costume wherever and whenever I want without being judged harshly.  Sorta hard as a grown-up.

7.  I like to collect - Teapots and books

8.  Though I've never been there, I feel inexplicably homesick for - England

9.  I've never really liked to eat -  green peas.  Ick!

10.  When I have nightmares, they're usually about - snakes.  It's a major phobia.

Where I Live

Yesterday, Big B and I attended a Thanksgiving lunch at Lili's pre-school.  Lili's class represented the Native Americans who attended the feast.  The kids were dressed in the traditional paper bag vest and construction paper headdress.  The other class represented the Pilgrims; serious as a good pilgrim should be in their paper hats and stiff collars made with doilies.  It was everything a Pre-K feast should be; loud, mess, yummy and fun!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I joined a book club when I moved here.  The nice thing about the book club is that it's forced me read things that I probably would never have considered reading.  I've made a reading list on the sidebar of the blog and I'll update it with the things we read this past year.  I know that, when it's been my turn to choose a book I've had a hard time coming up with something interesting.  Maybe my little list will inspire some reading choices for all of you; book club members or not!

We're expecting a hard freeze tonight and it looks like Cecil has already picked the person he wants to snuggle with tonight!  Stay warm, y'all!

What was I thinking??

With all the unfinished projects I have stuffed into bags, lying around in storage boxes and all of them waiting to be finished before Lili outgrows them, I decide to start another one.  It should be pointed out that, first; the yarn is very yummy and secondly; this project is supposed to be a gift.  Maybe.  I'm thinking about keeping it for myself.

Thursday and Friday are probably my favorite days of the week.  I don't work and Lili and I spend the day doing things around the house, watching movies and playing.  Thursday mornings are our "Chick Time".  After we hit story-time at the library we have lunch together.  Today we've have the added errand of getting the car looked at but it shouldn't take too long.  (Famous last words, right?  hahaha!)  Here's to Thursday!  Books, stories and lunch!
