Where I Live
The area of the country in which I live has been suffering from drought conditions for a very long time. There are legal fights over water; states sharing and not sharing water..and, in the summer, restrictions on when you can water your lawn. Which is funny when you think about it because there are no restrictions on the amount of water the is wasted watering the golf course that hosts the Masters Golf Tournament.
People are always coming up with ways to conserve water or to use what we have more wisely. I found this suggestion in the Rants & Raves:
"It's funny that our government is too spineless to suggest that men pee outside when they can be discreet to help with the worst drought in 50 years. This would be a huge water savings!"
I'm gonna have to research the merits of urinating on one's plants. I'm thinking my azaleas might really bloom this Spring if I send Big B outside to do his business.
Interestingly enough this next rant hits both golfing and the topic of urinating outside:
"A rant to hunters who come to play golf dressed in jeans, plaid shirts and orange jackets. Please remember where you are. Also, you can't just relieve yourself next to a tree by the tee box."
Hm. Guys who pee outside playing golf. Looks like those courses get plenty of water, huh?

When I was in the Army and the barracks we were given in Germany - the bathrooms were at the other end of the building (about half a city block away). Getting up at night and trekking down there to pee was such a pain. We were medical corps and so had access to... portable urinals (plastic bottles shaped... appropriately?). Enough said?
My husband worked for 12 years on a golf course in Tucson, AZ. Growing grass in a desert? They had 36 holes and a water budget over $800K a year. And that was using 80% reconstituted water! Such a useless waste!

Seriously? Dave pees outside every chance he can get. Even in the good ol' dead of Canadian winter.
I always rolled my eyes, but hey...he is conserving, isn't he?

Hey, I send my boys out in the yard to pee! That's what we do down here in Georgia . . . why, you didn't know that? Bless your heart.

Nice Fetching start :) Glad to hear you are alright and your parents too. Didn't think it had hit Georgia from the first reports but yes now I see there were some sightings! It looks like a dangerous Spring ahead of us, hope you have a good shelter there!

My father says that when the "slop jars" were rinsed and emptied outside back in the 1930s, his mother had one of the most beautiful gardenia bushes in the South. For those of you unaware, a slop jar is what you urinate in during the night so you don't have to trek to the outhouse. Sorry to be so...erm...indelicate.

hee hee hee.. I don't think my neighbors would be too appreciative of our water conservation if I sent hubby out to 'water' the lawn..

From dogs peeing on coffee tables to guys peeing on trees. There appears to be a lot of 'pee' issues down there.
