Where I Live: The Thursday Edition

I had big bloggy plans yesterday. My blog funk lifted and my plan was to catch up with all the posts I'd missed, drop in and say 'hi', post a pic or two of knitting and of course, hot you all up with "Where I Live."

Instead, Boogie got sick and there was barf.  We have an appointment with the doctor this morning.  And she's eating which she hasn't done since yesterday morning.  I'll let you know how things turn out.

In the mean time, pretend it's Wednesday and let's look at Where I Live.

The cat controversy seems to have died down a bit, which is good, and this little jewel just lept out of the paper at me.

"Well, I thought I was calling the number a beautiful woman gave me last night, but I guess it's just the Rant & Raves hot line."

For all my single friends out there, drop me a line before you go clubbing next time.  I'm happy to pass along the hot line's phone number.

This one is one of my favs:

"A rant to people who are sarcastic.  You really are not as funny as you think you are."

Do you suppose the author of this rant is being sarcastic?

P.S.  And look, I'm gone into bloggy doldrums and come back to find that Janna has given me a "You Make My Day" award.  Thanks Janna!  You can just drop that cash prize in the mail any old time.  No sarcasm intended.

Where I Live

The Rants & Raves section has had a lot of back and forth on the subject of cats.  I'm not entirely sure why or even how this started but, every once in awhile, someone throws in a rant or a rave about cats.  This rave is for all you cat lovers out there.

"A rave for cats!  Cats are much cleaner and more independent than dogs-they don't hike their leg on coffee tables, make a mess with their food, and, unlike dogs, they do not like to be dirty!  Our family had dogs as pets for years, then got a cat-what a nice change that was."

Whoa.  If your dog is pissing on your coffee table, you've got bigger problems than whether or not dogs are cleaner than cats.

Oh, and hey!  We're fine, just taking advantage of blogging without obligation...got some knits to show ya though.....

Where I Live

We had the most glorious week.  Big B had the entire week off and all three of us sat around the house.  We watched movies, made cookies, enjoyed Boogie enjoying her gifts from Santa.  I think we left the house two times, maybe.  I hope all of you had an equally relaxing, and sloth-like holiday!

As a result I'm woefully behind on email and blog reading.  If you've dropped me a line this week, I'll catch up.  Same goes for leaving comments.  I'll catch up, eventually!

Let's start the new year off right with a couple of selections from the Rants & Raves section of my local paper.  The first is from the December 31st edition:

"Kimberly, you need to readjust your wig."

It's always nice to have a friend who's honest about how bad your wig looks.  Shame she had to write it to the paper though.

The second comes from the January 1st edition:

"A rant to the guy that drives around town in what looks like a huge, silver Dodge Durango on a flatbed.  Unless you're a school bus driver or in the Partridge Family, there's no need for a vehicle that large."

The reference to the Partridge Family made this one my favorite.  I'm keeping my eyes peeled for that truck, though!

Y'all have a great week!

Happy New Year!!

RetropartyWelcome to'08!!  May your year be filled with blessings, happiness and joy!  And kick-ass knitting projects, of course!
