There's been a whole lot of craziness here but, believe it or not, there was also some knitting! I finished this scarf last night and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. Of course the weather is too warm for it now but I'm sure I'll get to use it lots in the Fall and Winter. Here are the specs:
Pattern: 'Misty Garden' by Jo Sharp as found in "Scarf Style"
Yarn: Artyarns 'Regal Silk' in color #148, 2 skeins
Needles: Size 7, Bamboo
I just loved working with this yarn. It's soft and beautiful and the color is just gorgeous. Originally I started the scarf on KnitPicks needles but the needles were way too slippery for this yarn. The bamboo needles seemed to do the trick though. This project was one of 2 projects that I was hoping to finish up in this first round of Project Spectrum. The second project was Boogie's sweater.
This is Boogie's sweater right now. I put off blocking it until the major stuff was done around the house. With all the dust and crap flying around I didn't want it to get messed up. In blocking it I've already found that some of the measurements are off and the sleeves are a bit longer than I'd expected. I think I may have knit a few more rows than necessary. That's cool though. I made it a larger size so that Boogie could wear it later in the year or next Spring...depending on when it fits her best. Next step is seaming and the ruffle.
The Master of the Mystic Arts made an appearance today. I was sure he'd been shoved into a drawer or a box somewhere but clearly his ability to move through dimensions served him well.
Hope y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Lovely cool blues... what color comes next? I haven't ever tried to do the whole Project Spectrum (it would make knitting seem like stress), but I admire those of you who do!

I'm digging on that scarf! I believe you were working on it the first time you and Kim came over to my crib.
Hey, the Master is staring me down...! Oh, I signed up for the 100 mile thing--I think.

Very pretty scarf -- it seems to glow in that sunlit photo. ai know what you mean about the slipperiness of the KP needles. Sometimes they just don't keep the yarn under control enough.

The scarf is just beautiful. And I'm so happy to hear someone else say that Knitpicks needles are too slippery for some projects. I do love the smooth join and the great cable -- it's just too bad the stitches slip off the needles!
